Android Software Engineer II – Order Tracking UI SDK

About the role

We are looking for an Android Engineer to join the Central Order Tracking SDK team in Barcelona. You will be a key contributor to building a native Tracking UI SDK that powers the user experience across all Delivery Hero brands.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a native Android SDK using Kotlin, focusing on reusable UI components.
• Integrate design system requirements with Jetpack Compose to support multiple brand themes.
• Collaborate with backend engineers to define contract‑first APIs for data exchange.
• Serve as the primary technical contact for regional brand engineers, ensuring smooth SDK adoption.
• Design multi‑module Gradle projects for modularity and easy integration.
• Maintain high code quality through unit, integration, and screenshot testing, optimizing memory and animation performance.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines for automated build and distribution via Maven/Nexus.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of experience developing native Android applications with Kotlin.
• Strong background in building complex UI components and deep knowledge of Jetpack Compose and the Android View system.
• Experience working with design systems and translating them into themeable code.
• Proven ability to collaborate with backend teams on API design and networking (Retrofit/OkHttp).
• Interest or experience in SDK/library development, including binary compatibility and ProGuard/R8.
• Solid understanding of asynchronous programming with Kotlin Coroutines and Flow.
• Professional proficiency in English.
