About the role

The Hotel Arts Barcelona is seeking a motivated Kitchen Assistant to support its culinary team. You will work in a fast‑paced, high‑standard environment, preparing ingredients, cooking simple dishes, and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and portion ingredients, wash, peel, chop, and store fruits and vegetables.
• Measure, weigh, and mix ingredients according to recipes and quality standards.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers; test foods for doneness.
• Prepare cold foods, assemble dishes, and ensure proper presentation.
• Set up and break down work stations, serve food in correct portions, and maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas and equipment.
• Monitor food temperatures, follow safety and hygiene policies, and report any issues to the manager.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• At least one year of experience in a kitchen or food‑service environment.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 25 lb, and work in a hot environment.
