Finance Manager

About the role

We are looking for a Finance Manager to join Ona Therapeutics in Barcelona and work directly with the CFO. This is the first strategic finance hire, responsible for building the finance function from the ground up and supporting the company’s growth in antibody‑drug‑conjugate development.

Key responsibilities

• Own day‑to‑day accounting operations, lead monthly, quarterly and year‑end close, and prepare financial statements under Spanish GAAP and IFRS.
• Develop and implement accounting policies, SOPs and internal controls, and manage internal and external accounting resources.
• Drive the annual budgeting process, periodic re‑forecasting and variance analysis, delivering clear performance reporting to the CFO.
• Support cash management, treasury activities, banking operations and fundraising data preparation.
• Partner with operational teams, especially clinical, to ensure accurate cost tracking and financial visibility.
• Lead the selection and implementation of ERP and finance systems, including procurement and payment workflows.

Required profile

• Hands‑on finance professional with experience in accounting, FP&A and operational finance.
• Proven ability to build finance processes and controls in a fast‑growing environment.
• Strong analytical mindset and comfort working closely with senior leadership (CFO, COO).
• Motivation to evolve into a broader leadership role as the function scales.
