Finance Manager – Spain & Portugal

About the role

BYD Group is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead financial operations across Spain and Portugal. The role will ensure compliance with Spanish accounting standards, tax regulations, and corporate policies while supporting strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee local accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury and payroll coordination.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with Spanish GAAP (PGC) and IFRS.
• Lead the annual audit process and manage account‑code mapping between local and group charts of accounts.
• Drive budgeting, forecasting and financial planning for both countries.
• Ensure compliance with Spanish tax legislation (VAT, CIT, SII, withholding taxes) and coordinate statutory filings.
• Act as a strategic business partner, providing financial insights to local management and commercial teams.
• Monitor AR, inventory and invoice tracking on a weekly basis.
• Develop and lead local finance staff or manage outsourced accounting providers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field; Master’s or MBA preferred.
• Professional certification such as ROAC, ECA, ACCA, CPA or CIMA (mandatory).
• Minimum 5 years of finance or accounting experience in Spain, including management responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of Spanish GAAP (PGC), local tax regulations and statutory reporting.
• Experience in multinational environments and with ERP systems.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.
