Global Head of Structured Trade

About the role

Santander Corporate & Investment Banking is seeking a Global Head of Structured Trade to lead and expand its Structured Trade Finance business worldwide. Based in Boadilla del Monte (Madrid), you will shape strategy, drive product innovation, and ensure disciplined risk management across all markets.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own the global strategy for Structured Trade Finance across all sectors and regions.
• Build, lead, and develop a high‑performing global team with clear accountability.
• Lead origination strategy and pipeline development, collaborating with Coverage, Sector, and local product units.
• Design and enhance product frameworks, risk parameters, models, and documentation standards to ensure competitiveness, scalability, and regulatory compliance.
• Represent the business to senior stakeholders, aligning with Coverage, Product, Risk, and Operations.
• Present business performance, strategy updates, and key transactions to Executive Committees and senior leadership.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in structured trade finance and commodity‑related financing.
• Proven senior leadership experience managing global teams and complex product portfolios.
• Strong understanding of risk governance, regulatory requirements, and compliance.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with senior executives.
