Legal Counsel – Procurement & Commercial Contracts (Spain)

About the role

HiTHIUM is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to support its expanding European operations, with a primary focus on Spain. The role is hands‑on and in‑house, working closely with procurement, engineering, project development, operations, sales and management teams to ensure legal compliance and mitigate risk.

Key responsibilities

• Provide proactive, business‑oriented legal support for European operations, especially in Spain.
• Draft, review, negotiate and manage procurement agreements, including EPC, construction, equipment, logistics and service contracts.
• Draft and negotiate commercial contracts such as sales, service, distribution, cooperation and NDA arrangements for the Spanish market.
• Advise internal stakeholders on Spanish law matters related to commercial contracts, construction projects and day‑to‑day business activities.
• Identify legal and contractual risks, offering pragmatic solutions to support project execution and business growth.
• Support continuous improvement of contracts and internal legal processes, and assist with compliance initiatives and corporate governance matters.

Required profile

• 5–8 years of post‑qualification legal experience, either in‑house or at a reputable law firm.
• Strong experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex EPC, construction, procurement and commercial agreements, preferably in industrial, infrastructure or energy sectors.
• Solid knowledge of Spanish and broader European commercial contracting practices; exposure to construction law and contract dispute management is a plus.
• Experience with large‑scale industrial projects, manufacturing operations, renewable energy, BESS or energy infrastructure is highly desirable.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
