Legal Manager – Corporate & Investment Banking

About the role

Santander Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) is seeking a Legal Manager to join its Markets Legal team in Boadilla del Monte, Spain. You will support the execution of sophisticated market transactions, ensuring legal compliance and risk mitigation while developing deep expertise in banking law.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on derivative transactions (structured and non‑structured) across a wide range of underlying assets, including interest rates, inflation, FX, equity, credit, bonds, and commodities.
• Draft and review documentation for repos, securities lending, structured loans, structured deposits, and risk‑transfer transactions.
• Monitor new regulatory developments affecting Markets and support the implementation of corporate projects.
• Collaborate with Treasury and other market teams on legal matters requiring cross‑functional input.
• Contribute to Capital Markets transactions, such as issuance of structured notes and repackaging deals across multiple jurisdictions.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with experience in financial markets, derivatives, or related banking law.
• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks affecting market activities.
• Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent analytical and drafting skills.
