Project Procurement Manager – Large EPC Projects

About the role

The Project Procurement Manager will lead procurement activities for large Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) projects, ensuring alignment with contract requirements, project schedules, and budget targets. Reporting to the Project Director and Procurement Area Director, the role bridges technical, commercial and operational teams.

Key responsibilities

• Review project contracts to identify procurement‑related clauses, risks and opportunities.
• Lead the transition from proposal to project phase, verifying the Project Launching Checklist.
• Compile and obtain approval for purchase condition annexes and procurement execution strategies.
• Secure corporate and client approvals for procurement plans.
• Manage the procurement team, size resources, assign responsibilities and monitor performance.
• Coordinate with Commodity Managers to define purchasing strategies that optimise cost and schedule.
• Promote sustainable and ethical procurement practices, expanding vendor lists and leveraging corporate agreements.
• Monitor project budgets, identify cost overruns and trigger deviation reports for corrective actions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in procurement management on large EPC or industrial plant projects.
• Strong understanding of contract terms, risk assessment and budget control.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with engineering, control and client stakeholders.
