Quality Inspector – Offshore Steel & Welding Works

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to support the fabrication of two offshore towers in Avilés, Spain. The role involves ensuring that all steel, welding, coating and assembly activities meet project specifications, offshore industry standards and client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out inspections of steel fabrication, welding, coating and assembly works.
• Verify compliance with project specifications, procedures and Bureau Veritas offshore standards (NR445, NR216).
• Review welding procedure specifications (WPS) and procedure qualification records (PQR).
• Inspect welding quality, dimensional control and coating applications.
• Coordinate and follow up non‑destructive testing (NDT) activities.
• Prepare inspection reports and maintain quality documentation using MS Office tools.
• Identify non‑conformities and support corrective actions.
• Communicate findings to fabrication teams, supervisors and client representatives.

Required profile

• Vocational training in welding, metal fabrication or a related technical field.
• Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or equivalent.
• Valid Working at Heights and Working in Confined Space certifications.
• Native Spanish speaker with fluent written and spoken English.
• Solid experience in steel inspection and welding works within the offshore industry.
