R&D Interlocking Software Engineer

About the role

Siemens Mobility is seeking an R&D Interlocking Software Engineer to design, develop, integrate and test cutting‑edge software solutions for rail signalling and transportation systems. The role is part of an international, multidisciplinary team and involves the full software lifecycle from specification to customer support.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate and test Siemens‑specific interlocking software solutions.
• Define and execute test plans and procedures.
• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including specification, design, implementation, testing and support.
• Collaborate with colleagues across multiple geographic locations and disciplines.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Telecommunications or a related field.
• Proficiency in English and technical Spanish, both spoken and written.
• Ability to work effectively in a distributed, multicultural team.

Required skills

• Programming languages: C, C++, Python.
• Linux operating system.
• Docker container technology.
• DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines (Git, GitLab CI, Artifactory).
• Communication interfaces and protocols: Ethernet, TCP/IP, UDP.
• Software architecture concepts.
