Strategic Cybersecurity Consultant

About the role

Thales S21sec Spain is seeking a Strategic Cybersecurity Consultant to join its central services team in Madrid. The role will support clients in designing and implementing comprehensive security strategies across IT, OT and cloud environments.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse cybersecurity needs and assess current security posture.
• Design and develop Security Master Plans and strategic road‑maps.
• Define high‑level designs for cybersecurity architectures (IT, OT, Cloud).
• Act as CISO, advisor or strategy consultant for clients.
• Develop and maintain reporting frameworks (KPIs, controls, metrics).
• Identify and continuously improve security policies in line with regulations and standards.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity regulations and compliance frameworks (ISO 27000, ENS, NIS2, PCI‑DSS, IEC 62443, GDPR, etc.).
• Hands‑on experience with security technologies and cross‑functional services.
• 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, preferably in a consulting or advisory capacity.

Required skills

• NGFW, IPS, NAC, WAF, CASB, SASE, EDR, DLP, IAM, PAM, Cloud Security.
• SOC, offensive security, vulnerability management, hardening, threat intelligence.
