Tax Specialist

About the role

The Tax Specialist will join the finance team of a leading hospitality group in Madrid, ensuring full compliance with tax obligations and supporting the company’s global tax strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file tax returns and other obligations, ensuring compliance with applicable tax laws, regulations and internal deadlines.
• Manage month‑end processes and control accounting records related to taxes.
• Ensure accurate eBooks/SII reporting.
• Monitor legislative changes in tax regulations and provide updates to the team.
• Collaborate with internal functional teams and external consultants, advisors, auditors, third‑party service providers and tax authorities.
• Assist with tax audits by providing documentation, reports and other tax‑related information as required.
• Support tax teams in implementing tax planning strategies to optimise the company’s global tax position.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in tax compliance.
• Strong knowledge of Spanish local tax laws; knowledge of Portuguese tax laws is a plus.
• Analytical mindset with excellent problem‑solving abilities.
• Fluent in English with strong communication skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
