Testing & M&P Engineer

About the role

PLD Space is looking for a Testing & M&P Engineer to support qualification and acceptance testing of structural components for its launch programmes. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to define, plan and execute test campaigns that ensure the safety and performance of launch vehicle hardware.

Key responsibilities

• Define test specifications, inputs, outputs, measurements and boundary conditions.
• Plan and schedule test campaigns.
• Manage test suppliers – contact, evaluate, select and negotiate agreements.
• Execute tests, monitor progress and follow‑up on results.
• Assess externally performed tests and collaborate on data post‑processing with the Stress team.
• Write reports and disseminate test outcomes internally.
• Determine sensorisation requirements and load conditions to meet test objectives safely.
• Collaborate on the design of test benches and tooling.
• Create or improve work methodologies for current and future projects.
• Research state‑of‑the‑art testing methods and sensors, proposing innovative solutions.
• Travel occasionally to PLD Space sites or supplier locations.

Required profile

• Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering degree.
• Fluency in English.
• At least 2 years of experience in test‑bench, hardware or laboratory work.
• Familiarity with standards such as ECSS, ISO, EN, ASTM or MIL.
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining safety and quality.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.

• CAD tools: CATIA or Siemens NX.
