2nd Kitchen Chef

About the role

We are looking for a 2nd Kitchen Chef to support the Head Chef at Barceló Playa Blanca in Lanzarote. The role involves assisting in daily kitchen operations, ensuring quality standards and contributing to the department’s revenue goals.

Key responsibilities

• Support and substitute the Head Chef in managing and controlling defined service processes.
• Achieve the sales plan and generate department revenue by planning promotional and dynamisation actions.
• Organise and coordinate the various kitchen services.
• Control costs by managing resources efficiently.
• Manage the kitchen staff: train, motivate and develop team skills in collaboration.
• Monitor and adjust service quality to meet guest expectations.

Required profile

• Higher Vocational Training in Kitchen Management and/or Hospitality, or a degree in Tourism, with HACCP training.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar position.
• High level of English is desirable.
• Knowledge of office software and familiarity with kitchen products, machinery and utensils.
• Strong gustatory and olfactory memory, creativity and manual dexterity.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, customer‑oriented mindset, and ability to work in a team.
• Problem‑solving, decision‑making, analytical and meticulous work approach.
• Capability to plan, organise and develop a team.

Required skills

• HACCP certification or training.
• Proficiency with office software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
• High proficiency in English.
