2º Jefe/a de Cocina – Hotel Tenerife

About the role

The hotel is looking for a motivated 2nd Kitchen Chef to support the Head of Kitchen in delivering high‑quality culinary services. You will work on‑site in a dynamic environment, helping to drive sales, control costs and ensure guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Assist and substitute the Head of Kitchen in managing daily kitchen operations.
• Achieve departmental sales targets and generate revenue through promotional actions.
• Organise and coordinate all kitchen services, ensuring smooth workflow.
• Control costs by managing resources efficiently.
• Lead, train, motivate and develop the kitchen team.
• Maintain and improve service quality to meet guest expectations.

Required profile

• Higher Vocational Training in Kitchen Management, Hospitality or a Tourism degree.
• HACCP certification or equivalent food safety training.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role.
• High level of English is desirable.
• Knowledge of office software and kitchen equipment.
• Strong gustatory and olfactory memory, creativity and manual dexterity.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Customer‑oriented, team‑player with problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• HACCP (food safety) knowledge.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar office software.
• Familiarity with kitchen machinery and utensils.
