A/C and System Safety Engineer (Military Derivatives)

About the role

Join Airbus' Aircraft and System Safety team in Getafe and work on the development of military aircraft systems. You will ensure that Airbus products meet the relevant safety standards and airworthiness regulations while collaborating with design offices, engineering, suppliers and authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Perform System Safety Assessment activities for military aircraft systems throughout development and certification.
• Analyse system functions to identify and classify failure conditions by severity.
• Define system safety requirements and evaluate proposed architectures against safety objectives.
• Generate evidence for Airworthiness Authorities to demonstrate compliance with safety requirements.
• Conduct Common‑Cause, Zonal Safety and Common Mode analyses, as well as risk analyses for continuous airworthiness.
• Manage safety requirements at interfaces with interacting systems and technical domains.
• Review and approve supplier data related to safety and reliability.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Aeronautical, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
• Good knowledge of aircraft systems and understanding of safety assessment processes.
• Experience in system engineering with exposure to safety assessment, airworthiness or certification.
• Strong English language proficiency.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with MS Office.
• Experience using safety analysis tools such as Isograph FaultTree+.
