Accountant – Finance Operations

About the role

Whitewater Group is expanding its international footprint and seeks an Accountant to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial operations. The role supports day‑to‑day accounting activities, cash‑flow management, and the preparation of financial reports for a diverse portfolio of engineering projects.

Key responsibilities

• Process and validate supplier invoices, resolve discrepancies, and maintain communication with vendors.
• Issue customer invoices in line with contractual and billing requirements.
• Maintain the fixed‑asset register, including capitalization, depreciation, and disposals.
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, provisions, payroll‑related entries, and other month‑end adjustments.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Assist with tax compliance and statutory submissions under Spanish GAAP.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in accounting or finance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• Strong analytical mindset, detail‑oriented, and able to work across multiple stakeholders.
• High level of English, both written and spoken.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Spanish GAAP (PGC – Plan General de Contabilidad).
• Experience with Sage ERP (preferred).
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
