Accounting Associate

About the role

We are looking for an Accounting Associate to join our fast‑growing fintech and SaaS business in Tenerife, Canary Islands. You will support day‑to‑day financial operations, ensuring accurate bookkeeping and timely reporting in a dynamic, international environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily bookkeeping, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Support monthly, quarterly and annual close processes, including intercompany transactions.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, employee expenses and vendor invoices.
• Maintain accurate coding of accounting entries and organized financial records.
• Assist with VAT filings, tax compliance and audit preparation.
• Collaborate with Operations, HR and other internal teams to ensure data accuracy.
• Liaise with external accountants and tax advisors as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
• 1‑2 years of experience in accounting, finance or audit.
• Solid understanding of GAAP or IFRS principles.
• Highly detail‑oriented, organized and able to meet deadlines.
• Excellent English communication; Spanish is a strong plus.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel or Google Sheets.
• Experience with NetSuite (preferred).
