Acompañante escolar (retén)

About the role

As a School Escort (retén) you will work with ALSA in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of school‑age passengers during their journeys. The position does not follow a fixed route; you will be stationed at the retén and accompany children as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and guarantee the safety of school passengers during boarding, travel, and alighting.
• Provide assistance and supervision to ensure the wellbeing of users throughout the service.
• Operate within a split‑shift schedule, covering morning and early afternoon periods.
• Maintain clear communication with drivers and ALSA staff regarding passenger needs.

Required profile

• Possession of a valid B driving licence.
• Ability to present a criminal background certificate covering sexual offences.
• Preferably prior experience in a similar school‑transport or escort role.
• Residence in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria or surrounding areas.

• Fixed‑term contract (September 2026 – June 2027) with part‑time hours (10 h/week).
• Split‑shift schedule: 07:00‑08:00 and 14:30‑15:30, Monday‑Friday.
