Advanced Software Developer – Structural Analysis Simulation

About the role

Airbus is seeking an advanced software developer to join its Structural Analysis Methods & Tools team in Getafe, Spain. The role focuses on designing and implementing the next‑generation ISAMI simulation platform, combining modern C++ and Python development with airframe structural expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop a new simulation framework (C++20) with GUI, services and multidisciplinary capabilities such as FEM pre/post‑processing, surrogate models and AI.
• Implement and extend the Stress Solver Repository using modern C++ and Python.
• Automate structural analysis workflows within ISAMI aligned with the digital strategy.
• Maintain and optimise existing tools for current Airbus programmes, ensuring performance and continuity.
• Define new sizing and optimisation methods to standardise future development processes.
• Supervise and validate subcontracted software development activities.

Required profile

• Degree in Aeronautical, Aerospace, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• Proven software engineering experience with interest in structural or stress analysis.
• Advanced English communication skills.

Required skills

• Modern C++ (C++20 or newer).
• Python programming.
• Software architecture and object‑oriented design.
• GUI development (e.g., Qt).
• Experience with simulation/FEA tools such as ISAMI, Altair HyperWorks or MSC Nastran.
