AI Senior Expert – Finance

About the role

Novartis is looking for an AI Senior Expert in Barcelona, Spain, to build intelligent, enterprise-scale AI solutions that transform financial decision-making and business insights. The role sits at the intersection of Agentic AI, large language models and advanced analytics, working with Finance, Data Science and Technology teams. It is a hybrid position; relocation support is not offered.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deploy Agentic AI solutions for finance planning, forecasting and performance management.
• Build multi-agent systems that reason, retrieve information, execute tasks and generate business recommendations.
• Develop AI-powered analytics that turn complex data into actionable business insights.
• Integrate large language models into enterprise workflows with reliability, transparency and governance.
• Design Retrieval-Augmented Generation architectures using structured and unstructured enterprise knowledge.
• Implement monitoring, evaluation and testing frameworks to measure solution quality, accuracy and business impact.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI products with measurable value.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, Machine Learning or a related field.
• Minimum five years of experience developing AI, machine learning or enterprise software solutions.
• Proven experience building and deploying AI agents or multi-agent systems in production.
• Hands-on experience with large language models, Retrieval-Augmented Generation and enterprise AI frameworks.

Required skills

• Advanced Python and SQL.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms, AI operations and scalable deployment architectures.
• Desirable: experience with finance, forecasting or performance management use cases, and knowledge of responsible AI, model governance and regulatory compliance.

• Base salary range of EUR 42,600 to EUR 79,200, with a possible performance-based bonus.
