Aircraft Performance Engineer – Flight Physics Centre

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is looking for an Aircraft Performance Engineer to join the Flight Physics Centre of Competence in Getafe, Madrid. You will work within a German‑Spanish team delivering flight‑physics solutions for all Airbus Defence & Space fixed‑wing programmes, supporting both current and future projects.

Key responsibilities

• Take accountability for aircraft performance activities across programmes, R&D, certification and authority negotiations.
• Evaluate the impact of aircraft and engine configuration changes on performance during design phases.
• Conduct performance studies for sales campaigns, RFPs, customer enquiries and flight‑operations support.
• Support flight‑data analysis for development, certification, training and incident investigations.
• Implement digitalisation and technology road‑maps to harmonise tools and data management.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of performance processes and ensure high‑quality technical dossiers.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering.
• 3‑5 years of experience in aircraft performance development, flight testing and certification.
• Negotiation‑level proficiency in English; German or Spanish is a plus.
• Willingness to travel as required.
