Aircraft Static Loads Engineer – Flight Physics

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space in Getafe is looking for an Aircraft Static Loads Engineer to join its Flight Physics team. The role focuses on developing and validating load models for a wide range of military and commercial aircraft programs.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain flight and ground load models for aircraft programs.
• Manage 6DOF simulation codes for manoeuvre and gust conditions.
• Perform load analysis for design, fatigue, 1g, failure cases and operational loads.
• Generate nodal loads for FEM analysis using NASTRAN.
• Clear flight and ground loads to obtain "Permits to Fly" for prototypes.
• Specify, track and analyse flight‑test load measurements and adjust models post‑flight.
• Develop and maintain software tools for load calculation.
• Prepare certification documents and present them to airworthiness authorities.
• Provide continuous airworthiness support, fleet analysis and preliminary design assistance.

Required profile

• Official Master degree in Aeronautical Engineering and Bachelor degree in Aerospace Engineering.
• Excellent academic record, especially in flight physics, flight mechanics, aircraft design, aeroelasticity, aerodynamics, structures, mathematics, programming, control systems or propulsion.
• Strong analytical and synthesis capabilities.
• Ability to make decisions, present alternatives and work effectively in a team.
• Great enthusiasm for technical work and a multidisciplinary learning capacity.
• Advanced level of English.
