Architect – Madrid or Barcelona

About the role

AECOM Buildings + Places is looking for an experienced Architect to join its Madrid or Barcelona office. The role involves working on multidisciplinary projects across several geographies, participating in the full project life‑cycle from concept to completion.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct space planning, block planning and adjacency studies in line with the building program.
• Prepare and revise architectural documentation, including site plans, floor plans, elevations, sections and details.
• Coordinate building systems (structural, mechanical, electrical) to ensure design intent compatibility.
• Assist in evaluating and selecting building systems and materials.
• Attend project coordination meetings with internal teams and external consultants.
• Interpret and apply building codes and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to specifications, basic cost estimating and sustainable design integration.
• Support the Project Lead with presentation material and participate in design critiques.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Architecture.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Portfolio submitted together with CV/Resume.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Revit (essential).
• Experience with Rhino.
• Experience with AutoCAD.
