Area Manager Spain & General Manager for METT Barcelona

About the role

The General Manager & Area Manager Spain will lead the performance, profitability and operational excellence of METT Barcelona, Casa METT Sitges and future properties in Spain, driving growth for Sunset Hospitality Group in the market.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee operations of all Spanish properties, ensuring efficiency, brand consistency and legal compliance.
• Implement and maintain SOPs, quality standards and manage capital projects, renovations, pre‑openings and hotel transitions.
• Manage supplier relationships and key operational contracts.
• Deliver luxury‑level guest experiences, resolve issues and monitor feedback to continuously improve satisfaction.
• Prepare and achieve annual budgets, monitor KPIs such as ADR, RevPAR, occupancy, GOP and profitability, and drive revenue growth and cost control.
• Present financial performance to owners and stakeholders and support feasibility studies for new opportunities.
• Lead, coach and develop hotel leadership teams, drive recruitment, succession planning and talent development.
• Support commercial strategies, build relationships with owners, partners, tourism authorities and investors, and represent the company at industry events.
• Provide regular operational and financial reports and ensure compliance with legal, brand and company standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• 7–10 years of hotel management experience, including at least 5 years as a General Manager or senior leader.
• Proven track record in managing luxury or upscale hotels with strong financial results and guest satisfaction.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation and stakeholder management abilities.
• Strategic thinker with experience in hotel openings, renovations, transitions and business growth.
