Assistant Controller – South Europe

About the role

MiniMed is seeking an Assistant Controller for South Europe to support the Regional Controller in safeguarding the accuracy of financial statements and ensuring compliance across the region. This full‑time position is based in Madrid with flexibility for hybrid or remote work, and offers the chance to develop leadership capabilities within a global organization.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Regional Controller in preparing and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly close deliverables.
• Assist with revenue recognition analyses, accrual calculations, and variance explanations for management.
• Liaise with Financial Shared Services to resolve accounting issues and improve end‑to‑end processes.
• Contribute to local statutory audits and the preparation of US GAAP reporting packs.
• Generate financial reports, KPIs, and commentary for finance leadership and operational stakeholders.
• Identify and drive opportunities for process optimisation, automation, and standardisation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field (Master’s or CPA/ACCA preferred).
• 3‑5 years of progressive experience in financial reporting and controlling, preferably in a multinational environment.
• Strong knowledge of local GAAP and US GAAP; familiarity with IFRS is a plus.
• Hands‑on experience with ERP systems, ideally SAP.
• Excellent analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams and shared services.
