Associate Medical Director – Rheumatology

About the role

The Associate Medical Director – Rheumatology will provide medical, clinical, and scientific advisory expertise across IQVIA’s divisions. This senior position supports trial execution, offers therapeutic guidance, and contributes to business development activities.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as Global Medical Advisor and Scientific Advisor on assigned projects.
• Provide medical support to investigative sites, including protocol clarifications, eligibility determinations, and patient safety issues.
• Review protocols, Investigational Drug Brochures, case report forms, and clinical study reports.
• Deliver therapeutic area training to project clinical teams and present at investigator meetings.
• Review and clarify adverse events, including serious adverse events, in collaboration with Pharmacovigilance.
• Participate in kick‑off meetings, weekly team meetings, and client interactions as needed.
• Maintain 24/7 availability for urgent protocol‑related issues and travel regularly as required.

Required profile

• Medical degree from an accredited institution and a valid medical license.
• Board certification in a relevant specialty.
• Minimum 5 years of clinical practice and at least 4 years of clinical‑trial experience as an investigator.
• Strong knowledge of scientific, clinical, regulatory, and commercial landscapes in rheumatology.
• Familiarity with federal and local regulations governing clinical research.
