Autonomous Vehicle Safety Operator (Safety Driver)

About the role

We are seeking Autonomous Vehicle Safety Operators (Safety Drivers) to support testing, validation, and commercial deployment of autonomous vehicle and robotaxi fleets across Europe. You will ensure safe operation of self‑driving cars during pilot programs and ride‑hailing services, working closely with engineering, fleet operations, and depot teams.

Key responsibilities

• Safely operate and monitor autonomous vehicles during testing, validation, and commercial robotaxi operations.
• Continuously supervise the self‑driving system while maintaining full awareness of surrounding traffic.
• Take immediate manual control whenever required by operational procedures or safety protocols.
• Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections, checking cleanliness, cameras, sensors, mirrors, lighting and reporting any issues.
• Record disengagements, observations and operational events using company reporting tools.
• Provide structured feedback on vehicle behaviour, traffic conditions and unusual scenarios to engineering teams.
• Follow all operational procedures, safety protocols and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Experienced, responsible drivers with excellent situational awareness.
• Willingness to undergo comprehensive training on autonomous driving systems and safety protocols.
• Ability to follow strict operational procedures and intervene safely when needed.
