Autonomous Vehicle Test Operator – Madrid

About the role

The Autonomous Vehicle Test Operator will operate and monitor self‑driving cars in Madrid after completing a fully expense‑paid training program in the United States. You will help collect data, provide feedback, and ensure safe operation of the vehicle across varied routes and conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Drive autonomous vehicles on defined and undefined routes, primarily monitoring the vehicle’s behaviour in autonomous mode.
• Collect and log data, give verbal feedback on the vehicle’s environment, and complete detailed ride reports for engineering teams.
• Test additional vehicle systems and software as required.
• Work scheduled shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and overnight periods.
• Maintain a high standard of safety both inside and outside the vehicle.

Required profile

• Valid EU/EEA Category B driving licence held for at least five years.
• Fluent in Spanish and English.
• Valid passport and ability to travel to the USA for 4‑6 weeks of training.
• Pass a criminal background check (last 10 years) and quarterly checks thereafter.
• Pass drug & alcohol testing at hire and random monthly tests.
• Achieve a minimum 90% score on Defensive Driving Training (DDT).
• Physical ability to stand, walk and sit for long periods.

Required skills

• Proficiency with a laptop and Google Workspace applications (Gmail, Sheets, Docs).
• Comfortable using a handheld touchscreen smartphone.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to describe observations concisely.
