Business Development and Engagement Officer

About the role

The Business Development and Engagement Officer will join the Innovation Hub South team in Barcelona, supporting EIT Urban Mobility’s mission to accelerate sustainable urban transport. The role focuses on building partnerships and engaging stakeholders across the hub’s geography, primarily France and Portugal.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and approach new potential partners in the region, understand their needs and match them with EIT Urban Mobility’s offerings.
• Manage the full partnership pipeline, from lead capture to contract negotiation and closing.
• Conduct market analysis at the hub level in collaboration with the wider EIT UM team.
• Support partner review processes, gather stakeholder insights and contribute to initiatives that increase partner satisfaction and long‑term value.
• Collaborate closely with account managers to deliver engagement activities and create value for existing partners.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree with 2‑5 years of professional experience in business development or partnership management.
• Proven ability to manage a pipeline, close deals and work with CRM tools.
• Excellent written and spoken English and French (minimum C1 level).
• Experience in an international, multi‑stakeholder environment and strong communication skills.
• Pro‑active, self‑starter attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
