Category Buyer

About the role

An opportunity for a Category Buyer has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Getafe (Madrid). You will be responsible for establishing procurement activities for one or more product packages, ensuring contractual frameworks with suppliers, and delivering the best purchasing conditions for the company.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to supply activities, manage bid presentations and negotiate contracts to achieve optimal purchasing conditions.
• Monitor contracts throughout innovation, development, series and support phases, ensuring full compliance with contractual terms.
• Manage daily relationships with suppliers and ongoing projects to optimise customer value while minimising total cost of ownership and risks.
• Participate in multifunctional or multidivisional teams during bid submission, contracting and contract‑validity phases.

Required profile

• University degree or master’s degree.
• 2‑3 years of relevant experience in procurement or buying.
• Advanced level of English.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Analytical mindset with a focus on solving operational problems.
• Highly organised and methodical approach to work.
