Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

About the role

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) partners with the Board of Directors to define and drive the organization’s strategic vision and business plans. As the public face of the company, the CEO leads stakeholder engagement, oversees operational performance, and ensures alignment with the mission to advance cashless and fintech services in Trinidad and Tobago.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Board to set values, vision, strategic goals and monitor annual performance targets such as service availability, transaction growth and cybersecurity resilience.
• Lead the development and implementation of national FinTech strategy, building domestic and international networks to attract investment.
• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and enterprise risk management requirements, including AML/CFT, data protection and payment‑system standards.
• Oversee daily operations, establish standards, controls, systems and procedures, and manage staffing and compensation recommendations.
• Direct fiscal activities, budgeting and financial reporting to the Ministry of Finance, pursuing initiatives for financial sustainability.
• Drive the country’s digital transformation agenda, closing regulatory gaps and expanding fintech adoption across public and private sectors.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience, preferably in fintech, cashless payments or financial services.
• Strong partnership skills with boards, ministries and regulatory agencies.
• Excellent public speaking and stakeholder relationship abilities.
• Deep understanding of fintech ecosystems, cashless business models and financial sector regulations.
• Ability to manage large, complex organisations and drive strategic projects to successful delivery.

Required skills

• Knowledge of cashless payment systems and fintech platforms.
• Familiarity with AML/CFT, data protection and cybersecurity requirements.
• Experience in enterprise risk management and regulatory compliance.
