Civil & Construction Advisor - Data Centres, Badajoz

About the role

Turner & Townsend, a global professional services company with a strong presence in the data centre sector, is looking for Civil & Construction professionals to join its Data Centre team in Spain. The successful candidate acts as the Owner's Representative during construction and commissioning, overseeing multidisciplinary site activities, managing technical changes, monitoring contractor performance and supporting start-up and performance testing. The position is site-based in Badajoz, requiring five days per week on site.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and control civil, structural and architectural engineering changes during project execution.
• Verify that construction works follow approved drawings, specifications, quality standards and project requirements.
• Supervise and coordinate civil, structural and architectural works, ensuring safe and efficient execution.
• Monitor contractor performance, schedule adherence and project milestones.
• Oversee site installation and support readiness for subsequent phases, and provide technical support during construction, commissioning preparation and handover.
• Attend progress meetings with clients, contractors, consultants and stakeholders.
• Identify, document and manage issues, non-conformities, deviations and potential contractual impacts.
• Witness material and works inspections, review progress reports and quantities, and support punch list, close-out and warranty activities.
• Enforce HSE requirements and support quality assurance and control, including audits and corrective actions.
• Coordinate interfaces with other disciplines and identify risks and delays, driving mitigation actions.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
• Several years of experience in site supervision, construction management or execution of industrial, energy, infrastructure or mission-critical projects; data centre construction experience is a plus.
• Fluent Spanish and English, written and spoken.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as required.

Required skills

• Knowledge of civil, structural and architectural construction methods, sequencing and site execution.
• Understanding of construction supervision, quality control, contract administration and project delivery.
• Experience coordinating interfaces between civil, MEP, commissioning and project management teams.
• Strong communication, organisation and multitasking skills, with a team attitude.
