Clinical Research Associate / Sr. CRA (Hybrid)

About the role

Novartis is looking for a Clinical Research Associate or Senior Clinical Research Associate (dual posting) for a site-facing role in Madrid Provincial, Spain. You will build trusted partnerships with clinical trial sites, oversee Phase I-IV studies and take ownership of monitoring activities. The position is listed as hybrid, but relocation support is not offered.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the main point of contact between Novartis and clinical trial sites
• Manage assigned Phase I-IV sites in line with protocols, monitoring plans and regulatory requirements
• Carry out site initiation visits and ongoing training for amendments and new site personnel
• Perform on-site and remote monitoring to protect patient safety, data integrity and protocol adherence
• Assess site performance, identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
• Drive continuous improvement and promote a strong compliance culture
• Support patient recruitment and lead site closeout activities

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific or healthcare-related discipline
• CRA: at least 1.5 years of clinical research experience, including monitoring or site management; Sr CRA: at least 3 years
• Understanding of clinical trial processes, GCP and ICH guidelines, and knowledge of global and local regulatory requirements
• Fluency in written and spoken English and the local language
• Desirable: understanding of the drug development process and clinical research methodologies
