Cocinero/a – Occidental Las Canteras

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Cook to join the kitchen team at Occidental Las Canteras, part of the Barceló Hotel Group in Gran Canaria. The successful candidate will work in a dynamic hotel environment, preparing dishes according to our menu specifications and supporting the overall operation of the kitchen.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare all recipes following the technical sheets of the established menu rotation.
• Ensure the smooth functioning of the kitchen under the supervision of the Head Chef.
• Assist in cost control, inventory management and purchasing activities.
• Participate in cleaning, conservation, cooking, regeneration and replenishment of food items.
• Support receipt and storage of food supplies according to established standards.
• Carry out tasks in compliance with current safety and hygiene legislation.

Required profile

• Higher Vocational Training in Cooking and Gastronomy (Ciclo Formativo de Grado Superior).
• Completed HACCP (APPCC) course.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar kitchen position.
• No language requirement; hospitality knowledge is a plus.
• Team player with creativity, stress tolerance and problem‑solving ability.
