Cockpit & Ground Control Systems Engineer

About the role

A vacancy for a Cockpit and Ground Control System Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Getafe. The successful applicant will join the Cockpit and Ground Control Systems department, responsible for displays and control activities for manned aircraft and ground control stations for unmanned aircraft.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse operational requirements and define systems architecture.
• Specify functional and equipment requirements and generate system specifications.
• Produce and maintain design documentation such as interface control documents, requirements documents and test protocols.
• Manage suppliers, including manufacturer and qualification monitoring.
• Define high‑level software specifications and support integration, validation and verification of avionics.
• Contribute to safety and security analysis, certification and qualification activities.
• Provide support to services and post‑delivery activities.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering (Telecommunications, Aerospace or Information Technology).
• 5–7 years of professional engineering experience.
• System engineering experience with airworthiness and certification processes.
• Embedded software design and development experience.
• Model‑Based System Engineering experience (valuable).
• Advanced English communication skills and ability to work in an international team.
