Commodity Buyer – Buildings & Construction

About the role

Airbus Operations in Getafe is looking for a Commodity Buyer to join the Buildings Spain Team (PJRBS) within Airbus General Procurement. The role focuses on purchasing construction services for Airbus sites across Spain, handling an average project volume of €150M per year.

Key responsibilities

• Drive compliant Airbus General Procurement processes and lead cross‑functional project teams for national and international building procurement projects.
• Negotiate, establish and implement frame contracts for construction services while managing contractual risks and supplier relationships.
• Manage procurement projects and tenders, ensuring cost, time and quality targets are met.
• Evaluate and improve supplier performance through contract reviews and KPI monitoring.
• Develop procurement strategies, support Airbus Savings programmes and contribute to e‑procurement initiatives.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Procurement, Engineering, Architecture or Construction.
• At least 5 years of experience in procurement, operations or facility management, preferably in the building & construction category.
• Native or fluent Spanish and negotiation‑level English.
• Strong leadership, negotiation and people‑management skills, with a commitment to ethics and compliance.

Required skills

• Business case analysis and financial KPI evaluation.
• Deep knowledge of procurement building contracts and project management.
• Familiarity with e‑procurement tools.
