Composite/Hybrid Structure Designer – R&T Team (Temporary)

About the role

Airbus Operations is looking for a Composite/Hybrid Structure Detailed Designer to join its Research & Technology (R&T) team in Getafe, Madrid. This temporary position will support the definition of future aircraft concepts and the development of innovative aerospace systems.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate emerging technologies and assess design concepts for next‑generation aircraft.
• Define and author technical specifications and requirements for innovative aerospace components.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary R&D and engineering teams to integrate cutting‑edge solutions.
• Drive prototype creation and lead proof‑of‑concept testing for advanced designs.
• Analyze data sets and test results to continuously refine designs and processes.
• Prepare technical reports and strategic recommendations for leadership and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
• Proven experience designing aircraft or aerospace systems, preferably in an advanced R&D environment.
• Fluent oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with industry‑standard CAD/CAE tools such as CATIA, 3DX, PLM, PASS, and CPD.
