Cook – Hotel Arts Barcelona

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Cook to join the culinary team at Hotel Arts Barcelona. The successful candidate will work in a fast‑paced, high‑standard kitchen, preparing a variety of dishes for our guests while adhering to the hotel’s quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, washing, peeling and measuring according to recipes.
• Cook hot and cold dishes, operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers, and test food for proper doneness.
• Maintain food quality, presentation and temperature throughout preparation.
• Set up and break down work stations, serve food in correct portions, and ensure proper storage.
• Clean and disinfect kitchen areas, tools, knives and equipment after each shift.
• Follow company safety, security and hygiene policies, report incidents and complete required training.
• Communicate clearly with team members and support a collaborative work environment.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience in a hotel, restaurant or similar food‑service environment.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend and lift objects up to 25 lb for an entire shift.

Required skills

• Food preparation and portion control.
• Cooking techniques for hot and cold dishes.
• Operation of kitchen equipment (ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, fryers).
• Food safety and hygiene compliance.
