Country Director - Insurance & Investments

About the role

The Country Director provides strategic leadership and overall management of country-level operations in the insurance and investment sectors. The role drives business growth, expands market presence, oversees insurance and investment services, manages financial performance, builds strategic partnerships and ensures compliance with local financial regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement country-level business strategies, growth plans and long-term objectives.
• Identify new market opportunities, expand distribution channels and build partnerships with insurers, banks, investors, brokers and financial institutions.
• Oversee insurance product distribution, policy acquisition, renewals, claims coordination and customer relationship management.
• Oversee investment operations, identify investment opportunities, monitor portfolio performance and support asset growth where applicable.
• Manage country budgets, financial forecasts, revenue generation, cost optimization and profitability targets.
• Drive insurance premium growth, investment product sales, customer acquisition and market penetration.
• Identify and mitigate financial, operational, investment and insurance risks.
• Ensure compliance with local insurance regulations, financial services laws, investment guidelines and anti-money laundering requirements.
• Maintain relationships with regulators, institutional investors, corporate clients, insurance providers and strategic partners.
• Lead and develop country management, sales, investment, insurance and operational teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, Insurance or a related field; MBA, master's degree or relevant professional certification preferred.
• Typically 10-15+ years of experience in insurance, investments, financial services or related fields, including senior management responsibilities.
• Proven experience in business strategy, country operations, financial performance management and commercial growth.
• Demonstrated ability to develop strategic partnerships, manage budgets, lead teams and achieve revenue targets.
