Data & Analytics Specialist - Problem Solver

About the role

Airbus Operations in Illescas (Toledo) is looking for a Data Analyst and Problem Solver Specialist to join its Industrial & Plant Operations Team. The role bridges complex datasets and strategic business decisions: investigating operational and strategic issues, performing root-cause analysis and recommending solutions, while helping drive the predictive plant strategy with AI tools and data analytics. It also serves as the Export Control focal point (EPoC) for the plant.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, clean and analyse industrial datasets to build predictive digital tools, automate data pipelines and create dashboards for key plant KPIs.
• Investigate shopfloor issues using 9S/8D and other advanced methods, identify root causes, implement containment and corrective actions and track ROI for plant management.
• Act as the main local contact for export control compliance, give basic guidance, escalate potential breaches and support Export Control Officers.
• Guide the industrial community in data analytics best practices, supervise subcontracting deliverables and influence stakeholders with data-driven evidence.
• Implement SPC analysis, data-driven tolerances and optimized process windows to prevent issue recurrence.

Required profile

• University degree in Engineering (Industrial, Aeronautical, Computer Science), Data Science, Statistics or a related technical discipline.
• Proven experience in industrial environments applying data analysis, root-cause investigation and advanced problem-solving on the shopfloor.
• Advanced English and Spanish.
• Nice to have: Shainin certification (apprentice minimum), Google Advanced Data Analytics capstone, or prior exposure to export control/compliance.

Required skills

• Data analytics with Python/Pandas, machine learning and data visualization.
• Working knowledge of generative AI tools and concepts.
• Statistical process control, Pareto principle, 8D/9S and project management.
• Critical thinking, written and verbal communication, attention to detail and cross-functional collaboration.
