Data Engineer

About the role

Zurich Technology Delivery Center in Barcelona is looking for a Data Engineer to design, build and operate scalable data solutions. You will work in a collaborative, innovative environment that blends cloud engineering, AI and MLOps to support global insurance operations.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and develop end‑to‑end scalable and secure data processes.
• Perform ETL data processing in AWS or other cloud environments using Spark or Databricks (batch and real‑time).
• Implement MLOps pipelines and CI/CD workflows with Azure DevOps, Jenkins or similar tools.
• Develop and deploy microservices in cloud environments.
• Manage containerised deployments using Docker, Kubernetes or equivalent technologies.
• Define industrialisation and operational strategies for MLOps models.
• Align business needs with technical architecture.
• Develop AI products based on large language models (LLMs) and fine‑tuning techniques.

Required profile

• Advanced Python experience (5 years).
• Cloud engineering experience (4 years) with AWS, GCP or Azure.
• CI/CD & DevOps experience (3 years) building multi‑cloud pipelines.
• Microservices design and deployment experience (2 years).
• Agentic AI / LLM integration experience (2 years).
• Backend engineering experience (2 years) building APIs and end‑to‑end solutions.
