Design & Development Lab Test Means Engineer – Military Derivatives

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Design & Development Lab Test Means Engineer to join its Laboratory Test Means Team in Getafe, supporting military‑derived programmes. The role involves designing, building, retrofitting and maintaining functional and software test benches while coordinating suppliers and logistics.

Key responsibilities

• Manage design, manufacturing, retrofit and maintenance of functional, software and electronic test benches across Airbus programmes.
• Analyse programme requirements to specify, design, build and deliver Lab Test Means and test‑solution systems meeting quality, time, cost and performance targets.
• Define test‑means specifications, drive supplier selection and oversee project execution during the realisation phase.
• Control configuration management for aircraft equipment on test means, ensuring export‑control compliance and handling logistics movements.
• Execute budgeting, planning, tendering, regulatory‑compliance engineering, verification procedures, component verification and commissioning.
• Provide 2nd‑level support to operating and maintenance teams for existing test benches.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering (Aeronautical, Industrial, Electronics or related discipline).
• 1‑2 years of experience in Lab Test Means design.
• Advanced English (written and spoken); Spanish highly recommended.
