Design Engineer – CATIA CPD (Composite Tooling)

About the role

Compoxi is seeking a Design Engineer specialized in CATIA CPD to develop moulds, tooling and related equipment for composite aerospace parts. The role involves close collaboration with project, engineering, quality and production teams to deliver robust, manufacturable solutions that meet strict aerospace standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design lay‑up, trimming and assembly moulds, jigs, templates and verification tools for composite components.
• Create digital mock‑ups and 3D models to verify assembly, functionality and dimensional compatibility.
• Perform validation calculations and apply GD&T principles to ensure tooling suitability.
• Produce detailed manufacturing drawings, bills of materials, technical specifications and handling/maintenance documentation.
• Coordinate with suppliers, selecting optimal tooling solutions based on process, material and tolerance requirements.
• Maintain consistent alignment systems and reference points across all production tooling.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of experience in tooling or mould design using CATIA V5.
• Degree or technical qualification in Mechanical, Aerospace or Industrial Engineering.
• Knowledge of composite thermoset and thermoplastic systems and aerospace tooling environments.
• Familiarity with Airbus methodology is a plus.
• Fluent in Spanish and English.
