DevOps Engineer – Order Management

About the role

The DevOps Engineer will join the Order Monitoring team, responsible for end‑to‑end IT solutions supporting BASF’s order‑to‑invoice processes. Working in an agile SPRINT environment, you will design, develop, and operate applications that translate customer requirements into digital solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design future S/4 solutions for end‑to‑end order monitoring as part of S/4 transformation projects.
• Develop, configure, and run complex applications, handling change requests, effort estimation, and solution design.
• Implement prototypes using SAP and non‑SAP technologies and support user/system tickets beyond first‑level support.
• Collaborate with external partners, internal BASF customers, and maintain a global community of power users.
• Support test applications, build automated testing, and contribute to the BASF Digital roadmap.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Business Informatics or a comparable field.
• 4‑6 years of experience with SAP applications, preferably at BASF.
• Strong knowledge of end‑to‑end order‑to‑invoice processes and SAP SD.
• Agile mindset, self‑organized working style, and excellent English communication skills.

Required skills

• SAP SD (Sales & Distribution) functional knowledge.
• ABAP OO development and unit testing.
• SAP Fiori UI development.
• S/4 HANA experience.
• Agile frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban.
