Director of Issuing, Merchant Services & Physical Channels

About the role

This senior leadership position is responsible for shaping the growth, innovation, and operational excellence of the bank’s card‑issuing, merchant services, and physical channel portfolios. You will drive seamless, secure, and customer‑centric payment solutions while aligning with the bank’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute a technology strategy for issuing, merchant services and physical channels that supports the bank’s vision.
• Lead AI‑driven digital transformation initiatives across all business units.
• Ensure resilience, security and risk management for card‑issuing applications, merchant services and ATM/branch networks.
• Maintain compliance with PCI DSS and other international payment regulations.
• Build and mentor high‑performing cross‑functional teams.
• Develop strategic partnerships with merchants, fintechs and other ecosystem players.
• Leverage data analytics and customer insights to guide portfolio optimisation and growth.
• Monitor KPIs to guarantee achievement of business targets.

Required profile

• University or graduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related technical discipline.
• 7‑10 years of experience leading engineering teams in complex, multi‑stakeholder environments.
• Proven ability to navigate regulatory landscapes and deliver large‑scale technology programmes.
