Director - Operations & Supply Chain – Food & Beverage focus

About the role

Alvarez & Marsal’s PEPI practice is seeking a Director / Senior Associate to lead large‑scale operations and supply‑chain engagements for private‑equity‑backed food and beverage companies. The role involves diagnosing performance, designing value‑creation initiatives and implementing sustainable improvements across manufacturing, production and supply‑chain environments in FMCG and regulated food settings.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate operability, efficiency and regulatory compliance of food production facilities.
• Analyse operational data to assess productivity, capacity, yield and equipment effectiveness.
• Engage with plant leadership and shop‑floor teams to gather insights and drive data‑based decisions.
• Identify and quantify cost‑improvement opportunities, including lean transformations, waste reduction, footprint optimisation, outsourcing and site consolidation.
• Develop end‑to‑end transformation roadmaps with impact assessments, risk mitigation and implementation plans.
• Lead execution, ensure high‑quality deliverables and manage client relationships for private‑equity sponsors and portfolio companies.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in Food & Beverage, FMCG or related manufacturing sectors, combining industry and consulting expertise.
• Proven track record working with private‑equity sponsors or PE‑backed portfolio companies.
• Deep functional expertise in at least one area such as supply‑chain operations, manufacturing operations, S&OP/S&IOP, footprint optimisation or CapEx planning.
