EHS Manager

About the role

Primark's Madrid regional office is looking for an EHS Manager to support, develop and implement its health and safety agenda across the business. The role reports to the Iberia EHS Country Manager and covers inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations, training and building a safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out health and safety inspections according to legislation and company policy, identify hazards and recommend remedial action, and review and complete the PINS system
• Conduct EHS inspections and audits of workplace standards and activities, and perform risk assessments and emergency plan reviews
• Investigate incidents and accidents, maintain records, make recommendations and close actions to prevent recurrence
• Attend H&S committee meetings in the stores and build effective relationships with the retail team, store management, area managers, legal and other stakeholders
• Advise on environmental, health and safety issues, secure a positive safety culture and promote behavioural safety
• Identify where additional training or information is needed and advise on training needs and EHS training delivery

Required profile

• Master's degree in Health and Safety, with specialisation in safety at work, industrial hygiene, ergonomics and psychosocial aspects
• Desirable: Legal Auditor certification and environmental knowledge
• Five years' experience in health and safety
• Experience dealing with unions, conducting risk assessments, emergency plans, H&S training and participating in legal audits
• Thorough knowledge of environmental, health and safety legislation and risk management, with hands-on EHS management experience
• Results-oriented, systematic, good attention to detail, and able to communicate complex messages clearly
• Total availability to travel around Spain; retail or FMCG experience is an advantage
