Electrical and Lights System Engineer – Modelling & Simulation

About the role

We are looking for an Electrical and Lights System Engineer specialized in modelling and simulation to join Airbus Defence and Space in Getafe. You will bridge conceptual design and physical implementation by creating high‑fidelity simulations that validate requirements, predict performance and uncover failure modes early in the development cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Design and model complex electrical architectures, including power distribution networks and control logic for electrical and lighting systems.
• Perform virtual failure tests to simulate electrical faults and assess system robustness.
• Collaborate with cross‑disciplinary teams to ensure equipment functionality within the overall electrical network.
• Use simulation tools to generate evidence for compliance with programme requirements.
• Participate throughout the engineering lifecycle, from requirement definition to verification.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Experience in aerospace or defence electrical systems is a plus.

Required skills

• Expert‑level proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink.
• Experience with MBSE tools such as Cameo or SysML‑based environments.
• Knowledge of embedded systems, power electronics and communication protocols (CAN, AFDX, RS, ARINC).
