Embedded Platform Support Software Architect

About the role

The Embedded Platform Support Software Architect will drive the standardisation of embedded software across the Systems Centre of Competence. You will define a common API and provide unified access to RTOS, BSP, low‑level drivers and middleware, enabling multiple design offices to reuse a single Platform Abstraction Layer (PAL) and its tool ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the creation and maintenance of the Software Requirements Specification (SRS) for the PAL.
• Design, develop and verify PAL components in compliance with RTCA DO‑178C up to Design Assurance Level A (DAL‑A).
• Support hardware/software integration projects, including third‑party RTOS, BSPs, low‑level drivers and middleware such as Ethernet certification stacks and graphics drivers.
• Manage I/O scheduling, Interface Control Document (ICD) and signal management across platforms.
• Evolve the platform architecture by adding new capabilities, features and services.

Required profile

• Proven experience in safety‑critical aerospace software development.
• Strong knowledge of RTCA DO‑178C processes and DAL‑A certification requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to design and integrate RTOS, BSP and low‑level driver solutions.
• Excellent verification and validation skills for embedded systems.
